A great article
When people ask me why I write romance, I don’t always readily have an answer for them. Everyone who knows me in person knows I’m not the best with quick reactions and verbal quips. But here’s an article by the wonderful Eileen Dreyer that I think really hits the nail on the head. It’s why I love writing romance, too. 🙂
Eileen’s article at CNN Living: “I Write Romance Novels–So What?”

Wow! What a great article! That’s why I buy and read romances. I love that no matter what goes on in the story or how much “excess baggage” a character brings into the story, at least the main characters have a happy ending. 🙂
I can identify with Eileen’s comments about being married for a long time. Life changes for us. We have illnesses and surgeries that make it nearly impossible to do the things we did with relish back at the beginning of our relationship. Viagra can’t give us new backs or give us lots of energy. 🙁
I think fantasy is great for the psyche – especially, romantic fantasy.

p.s. Jennifer, I’m so glad to see you writing. I hope you’re responding well to treatment . I think of you often and wish you the best.
