Peek-a-boo!

I received a new cover for A Hint of Wicked today, with some changes! Can you see them? The old cover is the one on the left, and the new cover is the one on the right. What do you think? (Click on the image if you’d like to see a bigger version.)

I’m in the mood to give something away…so how about one of the very last advance copies (ARCs) of A Hint of Wicked (old cover, by the way!)? Just let me know what you think about one (or more) of the changes to a cover and I’ll enter you in a random drawing to win an ARC. I’ll draw the winner on Monday and post the results here!

    Awesome quote, Jennifer!

And I really like the more vibrant tone they’ve given to your cover–and is that the stepback peeking out now from behind it?

Okay, wow, the colors. the new one is so much bolder and brighter (or is that the copying?).

The Nicole Jorden quote right there is so eye catching.

The book title font-I could have gone either way with it. Congrats and do try to get you some sleep sometime between now and june!

Wow, gorgeous! I much prefer the pink furniture to the grey. I think I’m undecided on the font change for the title. Both look fine to me. If there is a stepback, I wish I could see it. πŸ˜‰

A touch of purple, very regal. πŸ™‚ The quote is great and central to the cover so that’s eye-catching. What did they do with the two man teaser?

I like the font changes on the title. I’m not sure of the sofa cushion color change. Is the stepback the same?

    Looking forward to the story!

    Thanks,
    Victoria

Courtney: My editor called that green stripe a “mock tip-in”–it’s basically just a signal that the book will have a step back, I think.

Keri: Yes, sleep is proving to be quite a challenge for me right now! You’re right–I think the covers are all-around brighter on the newer cover.

Anna: Hehe! Thank you! I tend to spend hours at a time staring at the step back instead of writing!

Robena: I think they moved the two-man teaser to the back cover. I can’t wait to see what the new back cover looks like. πŸ™‚

Thanks, Victoria! Yes, as far as I know, the step back is the same (maybe I should double-check that, though!).

Thanks, D’anne, Gillian, and Christine. Christine, it was a happy day when I learned that Nicole Jordan had read the book and enjoyed it! Sooo exciting!

I like both covers. The endorsement is a great addition, of course. But I actually think I like the colors of the original better. But that just may be because of the settings on my computer.
I’ve had some just awful covers and it makes it almost impossible for me to promote the book. So congrats on getting a good one!!

Wow-I liked it before but the new color changes really make it pop!

Wow. A real cover quote. Gotta get me one of those! And now, of course, we’re all “watching you” because your cover said to!

Call me crazy, but I actually like the first cover better overall. I think it’s the blue sofa rather than the fushia/purple one. The fushia competes more with the red dress (though I do like the deeper tone of the red dress in the newer cover).

The stepback is good. And, it’s nice to have a quote on the front, though I think the tagline from the first cover is intriguing.

It looks like the cover all the way to the right by your recent posts has the deeper red dress and a slightly bluer sofa. That one is my favorite.

I must say, I like the new cover better. First, it’s more vibrant. Second, the font is easier to read. Third, it establishes you as, well, an established author! The blurb can go on the back where it belongs. I think this new cover (step-back, mock tip-in, bright green stripe on the side, whatever you choose to call it), endorsement and all, announces you’ve arrived and you’re here to stay! I’m very happy for you. Any ARC’s left? (hint, hint, pretty please with sugar on top?)

Brilliant! I really like the new cover and how much more eye catching it isβ€”which is really the primary purpose of a cover! It’s a really strong and gorgeous cover!

I really love the brighter colors on the new cover. The color change makes both the flower she is holding and the sofa stand out much more. I also prefer the change in font for the title. The cover is beautiful! I cannot wait to read this book.

Kate D., You’re right–I feel very lucky to have gotten a winner with my first cover. I’m still pretty giddy about it.

Eden, I like the colors too. I am hoping they’ll pop right off the shelves, LOL!

    Kate W.–Eek! I’m being watched!

Thanks, Vivienne. If I had to have that couch in my house, I agree, I’d go for the blue/gray, lol. And I think they’re putting the front tagline on the back cover, so that should be interesting to see.

Thanks so much, Lilah, Tabatha, Sue, Lori Ann, and Robin. I really do love the bright colors!
